A London-based branch of IWFS formed in 2023.

With fun, lively and educational events held in venues in central London, and trips to the most fascinating culinary and wine destinations, the Capital Branch is attracting scores of food and wine loving members of all ages, with or without prior foodie or wine experience.

London Branch

If you want to experience the best in food and wine, and learn more about them, then IWFS London Branch is for you.

We specialise in the pairing of food and wine, and have tastings, lunches and dinners, as well as offering access to international gastronomic festivals and all the activities of our International Society.

We are the longest established IWFS Branch, and organise a wide range of different types of wine and food events to cater for a variety of interests. These include

Wine tastings for both beginners and established wine enthusiasts, led by experts
Unique tastings from members’ private cellars, often with mature wines of a high quality which are very expensive if not impossible to obtain on the open market.
Restaurants with matched food and wine, ranging from reasonably priced classic restaurants to Michelin starred venues.
Meals at privileged venues that are normally inaccessible to the public. Recent examples have included Chequers, Windsor Castle and a variety of City livery halls.
Visits to specialist food producers and wine makers.

Liverpool Branch

Liverpool, the hometown of The Beatles and the "Three Graces" : Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building – all stand on the Pier Head. And Liverpool is home to many great restaurants including eight which are recommended by the Michelin Guide.

The Liverpool branch was one of the original branches in the UK tracing it’s roots back to the day when André Simon (The Wine and Food Society founder) would set sail for America from Liverpool.

André Simon believed "The object of the Society is to bring together and serve all who believe that a right understanding of good food and wine is an essential part of personal contentment and health”

At the Liverpool branch, we do our best to live by this philosophy, not only learning about the food and wines but making sure we enjoy ourselves as we dine at some of the best restaurants in town.

We are a very friendly bunch who meet at 9 to 10 events a year and we are attracting a younger membership as we try to go ‘off-piste’ with dining experiences not always available to the general public.

We like to travel and organise discovery tours each year to fabulous wine and food regions – recent trips have included Sicily, Jerez, the Mosel and Rheingau, and Rioja. We also arrange mini-weekends to culinary hotspots

So if you are passionate about food and wine and want to know more or just want to relax with friends over a special meal and enjoy great wines, then IWFS Liverpool Branch is for you.

The IWFS Merseyside & Mid Cheshire Branch celebrates fine wine, food, and friendship, offering members unique experiences through tastings, gourmet events, and cultural appreciation in a convivial atmosphere.

We offer a vibrant calendar of activities celebrating fine wine, exquisite dining, and cultural exploration. Members enjoy curated wine tastings and gourmet dining experiences that showcase exceptional pairings.

The branch enriches its community with educational wine-focused videos, enhancing members' appreciation and knowledge.

Beyond the table, the group organizes visits to catering colleges, venues renowned for their connections to wine and food, combining culinary heritage with memorable outings.

Each event reflects a dedication to fostering camaraderie, deepening expertise, and celebrating the joy of shared passions in an engaging, friendly atmosphere.

Whether exploring new vintages or memorable locations, the branch provides unique opportunities to savour the finest in wine, food, and fellowship.

Vale Royal Branch

The Vale Royal Branch was established in 2022, by a few people who were already Members of the IWFS and live in the north Cheshire area.

The intention of the Branch is to arrange a limited number of high-quality and interesting events each year, one of which must be deemed “educational”.

With a small number of Members, we currently enjoy events at restaurants in the northwest Cheshire area, usually using private dining facilities; making for intimate lunch or dinner experiences.

Amongst our members, we are fortunate to have individuals who are very experienced in both the wine trade and hospitality sector, but we are all very enthusiastic about food, wine and enjoy having good experiences.

Voyages of Discovery in Food and Wine

Welcome to IWFS Manchester Branch

We’re excited to welcome you aboard our voyage of discovery as we explore wines and cuisines of the world! Expand your horizons in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Manchester Branch, founded in 1951, is the largest branch in the UK outside London and we enjoy a varied programme of events that make the most of our city as well as the surrounding countryside. Our events balance friendship and fun with appreciation and learning. We regularly host:

Formal dinners
Informal lunches
Tastings
Food & wine pairings
Interesting visits of discovery
Demonstrations

Let our dedicated committee include you too; there are usually 10 events a year ranging from Michelin aspiring restaurants to catering colleges and guided walks and visits further afield. You will meet interesting, knowledgeable and like-minded folk and be given a very warm welcome.

Welcome to IWFS Hereford & Monmouthshire Branch

Hereford & Monmouthshire (H&M) branch invites lovers of good food, good wine and good company to join us for fine wining and dining experiences in our Border Counties.

Created 25 years ago, H&M presents a varied programme of around a dozen events in the Wales - England border counties, each year, for members and guests to experience a range of new and established restaurants. Venues range from gastro-pubs to Michelin-starred restaurants, and there are tutored wine tastings and visits to specialist food producers.

We enjoy arranging events at members homes where the hosts can demonstrate their culinary skills. We regularly offer opportunities to attend events not always easily accessible for individuals, a recent example - "A Day at the Races" held in a fully catered private box. The highlight each year is our formal Christmas Dinner. Forthcoming events are announced at least four weeks ahead.

Welcome to IWFS West Yorkshire Branch

Experience wine and food in ways you couldn't do by yourself with a friendly and welcoming group of like-minded enthusiasts!

Our unique and exciting events are fun, very gently educational, and cover a balance of three categories:

Food-Led: A cookery skills demonstration at a catering college, or a game tasting paired with delicious wines
Wine-Led: A tutored tasting of one wine grape or wine region, to unique opportunities to sample some of the best wines in the world
Producer-Led: Connecting with local food producers and suppliers, e.g.
a butchery demonstration at a local farm

Friendship and Adventures around Food and Wine in the Heart of Europe

Welcome to IWFS Zurich Branch

We are an active branch of Swiss and International members based in and around Zürich. We organise approximately 6 events each year, ranging from simple lunches to gastronomic weekends.

In the past, we have enjoyed dinners at both Michelin-starred and interesting local restaurants, explored cuisines and wines from other countries and participated in wine and food learning activities.

We have a reputation for our short-break events where our members and members of other IWFS branches have the opportunity to strengthen their friendship, whilst exploring the wine and food of different regions of Switzerland and nearby countries.
